The Only Way To Truly Love.

I know you all have read, studied, and heard the love chapter at sometime in your life. I want you to think about these verses for your significant others, and also to all the other people in our lives, such as; co-workers, friends, enemies, and all the above. This is the true way to love like Christ and I encourage each of you to look into your heart and see if you are loving this way. It is so hard to do, but the closer we get to Jesus the more we reflect Jesus. Can you truly love like Jesus if Jesus is not in your life or you heart?  No you can’t!!  These ways of showing love are very tough, nearly impossible with no Jesus in your life.  To love others in this manner takes time to master, even a life time.  We will never be perfect in them but we can try our very best with Jesus guiding us, we can show the world what true love is!  AMEN!!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

He Wants You!

What a glorious day it is, we get the privilege to live our lives with God teaching us, examining us and our ways so that we may be drawn closer to Him. The more we seek Him the more God molds us into the people He longs for us to be. So today I pray that each of you will ask God to search your heart and thoughts and see if they are aligned with where God wants you to be in your life. Let us trust His understanding and Will and not our own. God bless you all and God loves YOU.  AMEN!!

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

In His Words,

Travis

Don’t Give Up, Don’t Ever Give Up!

Have you lost all hope in your life, or are your struggling with lack of hope?  Are your putting God in a box and not understanding His true love, grace and power to do all things if we trust in Him. Let are hearts be filled with hope from God that He can guide us to that hope we long for. Don’t grow impatient but grow closer to God and allow Him to show you the way. I encourage you to look up and see the hope in Jesus, He has no limit on what He can do in your life.  Don’t ever give up because Jesus has never given up on you and never will.  AMEN!!

Romans 8:24-26

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.   In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Are You Listening?

We all get to points in our lives where we need to lean on other people and the godly advice that God has instilled in them.  In these moments where we need to lean on that person and their advice we have a choice to have an open heart and hear them or we continue to lean on our own understanding.  When God puts these two people together and the advice is God breathed, the clarity of the advice is exactly what needed to be heard.  I know I have been on both sides of this and I needed that godly advice when my life was in turmoil.  I have also been the one God used to give advice.  Are you listening to God’s advice for your life?  God can use people in your lives when you least expect it.  Have discipline and discernment when taking this advice.  Our plans are never bigger or more important than God’s plan.  He will direct you and get your attention the best way He knows for You.  So I pray that you keep your heart open and ready yourself for the advice you are longing for in your life.  AMEN!!

Proverbs 19:20-21

Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.   Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord ’s purpose that prevails.

Yes, That’s The Only Way!

A while back I was working with a co-worker and we were driving from Dalhart, TX to Dumas, TX and we got on the discussion of eternal life and how you get there.  He is, at best a seldom church goer (his words) and believes there are many ways to heaven.  He then asked me what I thought about eternal life since I go “to church more often.”  I simply said, “Jesus tells us the He is the only way to the Father.  Jesus also tells that he is the light of this world and the only access to heaven (The Father) is through Him.”  Well, this made him really think about his belief in Jesus.  So over all, it was a great discussion.  Then this morning God put on my heart the verse below…If your name is not found in the book of life then you will be thrown into the lake of fire.  Wow, it reminded me that we all need to live our lives more like Christ because I want as many people as possible to be written in the Book of Life.  Being written in the Book of Life is simple, all you must do is put your faith in Jesus and believe in your heart, admit that He is your Lord over your life, believe that He died on the cross for your sins, and rose from death three days later.  That’s it, and your name will be written in the Book of Life with Jesus’ blood.  Make sure your name is in that book and live your life so that more people’s names will be written in there as well.  AMEN!!

Revelation 20:15

Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Don’t Let The Sun Go Down!

Do you hold anger against anyone for long periods of time?  When you’re angry, do you sin towards that person and God?  Do you hold grudges towards others that have hurt you or angered you?  Paul tells us that we should not hold onto that anger, in fact we should let that anger go before the sun goes down. That means no grudges, no anger towards someone for long periods of time, no silent treatment to the person you are angry with, but forgive them and deal with the pain and anger.  DO NOT let the devil get a foothold on your heart and use anger to hurt or even ruin your relationships.  and don’t let that anger turn from anger to bitterness.  May God guard your heart and that you may not sin anymore when you’re angry towards others.  AMEN!!

Ephesians 4:26-27

“In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

Service vs. The Flesh

Jesus Christ died on the cross to free us from sin.  He sacrificed himself so that you and I shall be free and live with him forever in heaven. Let us not abuse this freedom and live by the flesh, but let us serve others in love so that we give glory to God with our service. The hardest part is to serve others humbly and not expect anything in return. Ultimately we should serve others with a humble heart and in love like Jesus serves us.  Let’s reflect Jesus with our service and don’t let our flesh control our service.  AMEN!

Galatians 5:13

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Travis
